I am an advocate for public schools because it’s in the nation’s best interest to have a solid public school foundation. I am an advocate for public schools because I think we can improve them and with your help we will. I’m an advocate for public schools because the nation was founded on the principles of a good education for every citizen.
I’m an advocate for public schools and I show up in Jefferson City. For the third year in a row, I’ve traveled to the capital to fight for public education funding.
I have been an advocate at the state level and federal level to support our district and to support public education. I have spoken with federal legislators about IDEA funding and support for literacy research/standards and I have advocated at the state level to keep transportation fully funded, to re-evaluate the state funding formula, and to actually add to the state funding when sports betting was legalized instead of just replacing gambling funds with existing funds so that existing funds can be spent elsewhere. The state lottery funding of education was a shell game, and the community saw through it. We should not do the same thing again since the legalizing sports betting campaign was based on adding funding to schools.
I am an advocate for public schools because I know it’s critical for our nation to have an informed citizenry. Literacy has been a high priority that I have addressed at any opportunity possible, and our district is making improvements.
I’m an advocate for public education.
