I am running for re-election for my seat on the Board of Education. One of the questions I have been asked is about my background in education and my connection to LSR7. I appreciate those of you that have reached out to learn more about me and why I want to continue serving in our district!
I’m proud to have a strong connection to the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, both personally and professionally. As a parent of a current LSR7 student, I care deeply about the district’s success and am committed to understanding the needs and concerns of our community. I’ve been fortunate to be involved in various district activities, including serving on the Board of Education, volunteering in classrooms, and participating in the Woodland Elementary PTA. I also currently serve on several district committees, including the Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC), Audit committee, and Government Relations committee, and I’ve been honored to represent our district as a Missouri School Board Association delegate. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to teach in the Nuclear Medicine program for the University of Missouri, which has given me a broader perspective on education. I’m grateful for these experiences and believe they have prepared me to make informed decisions that will benefit our students, staff, and community.
